Our Commitment

We believe every family deserves access to quality homeschool community, regardless of ability. We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our website and programs.

Anchor Homeschool Co-op strives to ensure that our website and services are accessible to people with disabilities. We have invested resources to help ensure that our website is made easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities.

Web Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities.

Features We've Implemented

  • Keyboard Navigation: Our website can be navigated using only a keyboard
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels where appropriate
  • Text Alternatives: Images include descriptive alt text
  • Color Contrast: We maintain sufficient contrast ratios for readability
  • Resizable Text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
  • Consistent Navigation: Menus and links follow predictable patterns
  • Form Labels: All form fields have associated labels
  • Focus Indicators: Interactive elements show visible focus states

Physical Accessibility

Our co-op meets in a facility that provides:

  • Accessible parking spaces
  • Wheelchair-accessible entrances
  • Accessible restrooms
  • Classroom spaces that accommodate mobility devices

If you have specific accessibility needs regarding our physical location, please contact us before your first visit so we can ensure appropriate accommodations.

Program Accessibility

We welcome students with diverse learning needs. As noted in our Policies, parents of students requiring additional support should discuss needs with leadership before enrolling to ensure we can provide a successful experience.

While our teachers are not equipped to provide consistent one-on-one assistance, we work with families to find solutions that allow students to participate fully.

Third-Party Content

Our website may link to or embed content from third-party providers (such as Google Forms, payment processors, or video platforms). While we cannot control the accessibility of these external services, we strive to select providers that maintain accessibility standards.

Feedback and Assistance

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Anchor Homeschool Co-op. Please let us know if you encounter accessibility barriers:

We try to respond to accessibility feedback within 3 business days and to propose a solution within 10 business days if a fix is needed.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our website and practices to identify and resolve accessibility issues. This statement was last updated in February 2025.
