Rooted in Faith

Anchor is a Christian homeschool co-op. This is not just a descriptor. It is the foundation that shapes everything we do, from how we select curriculum to how we handle conflict. We believe that education is a spiritual endeavor. We teach children to wonder at creation, to pursue truth, and to grow in wisdom and virtue. Our faith informs our pedagogy and our relationships.

We do not simply add Bible verses to secular education. We seek to integrate faith and learning in every subject, every conversation, and every interaction. Families do not need to sign a statement of faith to join Anchor. Leadership affirms our statement of faith, and teachers commit to teaching from a conservative Christian worldview. We ask families to respect the Christian foundation that shapes our culture and instruction.

What We Believe

  • God. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Scripture. We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice.
  • Jesus Christ. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death, resurrection, and future return.
  • Salvation. We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works.
  • Humanity. We believe all people are created in God's image and have inherent dignity and worth.
  • The Church. We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and service.

Leadership Commitment

Our leadership team and teachers affirm this statement of faith. We believe it is important for those leading and teaching at Anchor to be in agreement on these core doctrines.

Teacher Requirements

Background checks for all teachers, agreement with statement of faith, demonstrated teaching ability or subject expertise, and commitment to parent partnership.

Accountability

Regular evaluations by leadership team, open feedback from parents and students, annual review of policies and practices, and transparent communication.

Decision Making

Prayer and seeking wisdom together, input from teachers, parents, and students, consensus-building when possible, and clear communication of decisions.

Contact Leadership

Direct email to leadership team, available during co-op hours for conversations, and annual parent surveys.

Core Values

These values shape how we operate and how we treat one another

01

Excellence

We do not confuse excellence with perfection. We mean doing what we do with care, preparation, and integrity. Teachers prepare. Students try. Parents support. We grow together.

02

Kindness

We prioritize relationships over being right. We speak gently, listen well, and assume the best about one another. Conflict happens, but we handle it with grace and direct communication.

03

Humility

We are all learning. Teachers, parents, and students alike. We admit mistakes, receive feedback, and remain open to growth. No one has arrived.

04

Responsibility

We show up prepared and on time. We clean up after ourselves. We follow through on commitments. Shared responsibility makes community possible.

05

Wonder

We cultivate curiosity and delight in learning. We point students to the beauty and order of creation. Education is not just about information, but about formation and awe.

06

Partnership

Parents are the primary educators. We come alongside to support, not replace. Communication flows both ways. We are in this together.

Culture in Action

How our values show up on Tuesdays

Welcoming Newcomers

New families are never left to figure it out alone. We introduce them, answer questions, and make sure they feel at home from their very first Tuesday.

Gracious Speech

We model and teach communication that builds up. No harsh words. We address concerns directly and kindly, seeking reconciliation when needed.

Mentorship

Older students help younger ones. Experienced homeschoolers guide newcomers. We believe in the power of relationships across age and experience.

A Note on Belonging

You do not need to be Christian to find a place at Anchor. We have families from various faith backgrounds and church traditions. What we share is a commitment to kindness, excellence, and supporting one another in the homeschooling journey. If you are curious about our faith but not sure where you stand, you are welcome here.
