Our Agreement
Terms of Service
These terms outline the agreement between Anchor Homeschool Co-op and participating families. Please review carefully before enrolling.
We do our best to keep these terms accurate and up to date, but there may be errors or omissions. If you notice something that doesn't look right, please let us know.
1. Membership and Participation
1.1 Eligibility
Anchor Homeschool Co-op is open to homeschooling families who share our values and are committed to our mission of Christ-centered education. Membership is granted at the discretion of the leadership team based on application review, available space, and alignment with our community standards.
1.2 Parental Involvement
As a cooperative, Anchor requires active parent participation. By enrolling, you agree to:
- Stay on-site during co-op hours if your children are under 6; all parents are welcome to stay on-site
- Fulfill your assigned volunteer role consistently and reliably
- Participate in setup, cleanup, or other cooperative responsibilities as scheduled
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
Important: Children ages 6 and up may be dropped off. Parents of children under 6 must stay on-site. Parents who fail to fulfill volunteer commitments may be asked to withdraw without a refund.
2. Financial Terms
2.1 Fees and Payments
All families are responsible for:
- Semester registration fees
- Per-class tuition as published for each semester
- Material fees as specified by individual teachers
- Any applicable family supply fees or facility contributions
2.2 Refund Policy
Refund requests must be submitted in writing. The deadline for fall semester refunds is June 1st and January 1st for the spring semester. Refunds may be denied if a student's withdrawal would bring a class below its minimum enrollment threshold. Please note that registration fees and club fees are non-refundable.
2.3 Late Payments
Payment deadlines are strictly enforced. Late payments may result in a late fee or loss of your student's spot in class.
3. Conduct and Behavior
3.1 Student Conduct
Students are expected to demonstrate respect for teachers, volunteers, and peers. Disruptive behavior that interferes with the learning environment will be addressed through the following process:
- First incident: Teacher confers with parent
- Second incident: Written notice from leadership
- Third incident: Parent required to remain in classroom with student
- Continued disruption: Withdrawal from co-op without refund
3.2 Parent Conduct
Parents are expected to model the values we teach. This includes respectful communication with all community members, constructive resolution of conflicts, and support for leadership decisions.
3.3 Technology Use
Device use is restricted to teacher-approved educational purposes during class time. Please encourage your child to keep their phone away during classes, breaks, lunch and club.
4. Liability and Risk
Assumption of Risk
Participation in Anchor Homeschool Co-op involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, property damage, and emotional distress. Activities take place at a host facility that is not owned or operated by Anchor. By enrolling, you voluntarily assume these risks.
4.1 Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Anchor Homeschool Co-op, its directors, officers, volunteers, teachers, the host facility, and its representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by you or your children, whether caused by the negligence of the released parties or otherwise.
4.2 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Anchor Homeschool Co-op and its representatives from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur due to your participation or the participation of your children, whether caused by your negligence or otherwise.
4.3 Security
Our host facility has security cameras on-site, including in classrooms, for the safety of teachers and students.
5. Health and Safety
5.1 Medical Information
You agree to provide accurate and complete medical information, including allergies, medications, and emergency contacts. You authorize Anchor leadership and designated volunteers to administer basic first aid and to seek emergency medical treatment if necessary.
5.2 Illness Policy
Sick children may not attend co-op. This includes fever within 24 hours, vomiting or diarrhea within 48 hours, contagious conditions, or any symptoms that would prevent full participation. Families who bring ill children may be asked to leave.
5.3 Allergies and Medical Conditions
While we make reasonable efforts to accommodate students with allergies and medical conditions, Anchor cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Parents of children with severe allergies must stay on-site and are solely responsible for monitoring their child's safety.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Photography and Media
Anchor occasionally photographs or records classes and events for promotional, educational, and archival purposes. Unless you notify us in writing of your objection, you grant Anchor permission to use photographs and video that include you or your children in:
- Website and social media content

7. Termination and Withdrawal
7.1 Voluntary Withdrawal
Families may withdraw from co-op at any time by providing written notice to leadership.
7.2 Involuntary Removal
Anchor reserves the right to terminate membership at its discretion if a family is not a good fit for the community. This may include, but is not limited to, concerns related to conduct, safety, financial obligations, or alignment with our community values.
8. Changes to Terms
Anchor Homeschool Co-op reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and posted on our website. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
10. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
11. Complete Agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Statement of Faith, and published Policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and Anchor Homeschool Co-op concerning your participation. They supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, warranties, and understandings.
